This is us Waynes is Sweden's first coffee shop chain. We were founded in 1994 by four friends. Anders, Lena, Marika and Margareta. The inspiration came from the USA where they experienced a new, growing coffee shop culture. At the same time that here at home in Sweden we started to tire of brewed coffee and princess cake. Sweden was ready for something new. Cafes with a home feel, Italian coffee drinks, US-inspired pastries and with the Swedish fika tradition as a basis. The first cafe opened on Kungsgatan in Stockholm and was named Wayne's Coffee, after Margareta's husband. From the first day there was a queue. The celebrities were there, the royal family was represented and it was here, at Wayne's Coffee, that the Nordic region's first Latte was served. Soon a second Waynes was also opened on Götgatan in Stockholm. Today, 27 years later, there are close to 150 Waynes in 8 countries. Since 1997, Waynes has been operated on a franchise basis, and the chain continues to develop further together with all these local entrepreneurs. In 2017, we were named Sweden's best franchise chain. We want to offer our guests a sustainable coffee experience, with a focus on taste, personal meetings and inspiring meeting places.
