You are always welcome to contact us! ABOUT US OUR HISTORY John Scott's history begins in the late 17th century in a district of Gothenburg called Wohlfagrts Ängar. The buildings in this area were built in the English style, and also the landowner Jacobina Scott, born in Barclay, was married to an Englishman named Reverend John Henry Scott. For this reason, the area was soon renamed the English Quarter. In 1867 the city purchased the land from the Scott family. Since then the area and its features have been gradually modernised, but distinctive English interior design features persist in today's John Scott's. It is named after the original land owners.
